Child with AIDS Went to Disney World
After two failed attempts to get a visa to the United States, an 8-year-old Tica with AIDS who was abandoned by her parents was finally granted permission to realize her dream: visiting Disney’s MagicKingdom and EpcotCenter in Orlando, Florida. (People with AIDS are not granted U.S. visas, but the U.S. Homeland Security Department finally waived that rule for the girl.) An anonymous donor funded the trip through Fundación Vida, a nonprofit organization in Costa Rica that offers support to AIDS victims.
