Friends, Family Mourn Renowned Businessman

BUSINESSMAN Kai Fieburg, the vice-president of the first-division soccer Club Brujas, from the western suburb of Escazú, and former director of the Costa Rica Country Club, died from injuries received in a car accident in Escazú on the night of Jan. 10. He was 42.

 

Fieburg, owner of the electronics-distribution company Anker Data, was well known in Costa Rica. In addition to co-founding the Brujas, the German-born businessman was also involved with the Costa Rican Soccer Federation (FEDEFUT) and the professional golf tournament the Costa Rica Open.

 

He was buried Jan. 11 at midday in Jardines del Recuerdo, northwest of San José. He is survived by his wife, Kirsten Schultheis-Fieburg, his son Marc, 16, and daughter Tini, 13.
