Guatemalan Mayor Gunned Down

GUATEMALA CITY (EFE) –Gunmen assassinated the mayor of the city of El Adelantado, in Guatemala’s Jutiapa province, police said Sunday. Mayor Felix Samayoa was gunned down Saturday while driving through El Adelantado, some 180 kilometers southeast of Guatemala City.The 46-year-old official was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. Samayoa was the third mayor assassinated in Guatemala this year.
