Price of Gas Rises Again

ANOTHER increase in the price ofgas took effect Wednesday.A liter of super unleaded gasolinenow costs ¢361.40 ($0.80), up from¢349.80 ($0.78), according to figuresfrom Costa Rica’s Public ServicesRegulatory Authority (ARESEP).Regular unleaded costs ¢345.30 ($0.77),up from ¢334.30 ($0.74), while dieselwas raised to ¢258.90 ($0.58) from¢250 ($0.56).This is the ninth increase in gasprices in Costa Rica this year and maynot be the last, since petroleum, currentlyat $55.17 per barrel, is expected toreach $60 before the end of the year,National Petroleum Refinery (RECOPE)president Littleton Bolton told LaNación.
