Wake up to mist over the mountains and the silence of the forest. Las Margaritas is a private cabin in the heart of Dota, surrounded by nature, with views of the mountain range and access to some of the most beautiful landscapes in Costa Rica.
Just 35 minutes from San Gerardo de Dota (the quetzal area), 10 minutes from Copey Waterfall, and right in the heart of the Tarrazú coffee region. Perfect for families, groups of friends, and travelers bringing their pets.
The Space
The cabin is entirely yours: no one else shares the space with you.
It has two bedrooms: the main bedroom with a queen-size bed and the second with a single bed. The living room also has a sofa bed and an armchair, making it comfortable for up to 6 guests. There is one private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare anything you need, and WiFi throughout the property.
The parking area is private and can accommodate up to 3 vehicles, so there’s no problem if you’re traveling with multiple cars.
Pets are welcome. We understand that for many travelers, their pets are part of the family, and here they have plenty of space and nature to enjoy together.
The weather in Dota is cool during the day and cold at night (between 12 and 18°C / 54–64°F). We recommend bringing a jacket or sweatshirt, especially if you’re traveling with children.
Other Things to Note
You’ll be staying in one of the most special corners of the country—and you may not even know it yet. Here are some of the options you can enjoy from the cabin:
— Copey Waterfall: 10 minutes by car. One of the most accessible and less touristy waterfalls in the area. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting wet.
— San Gerardo de Dota: 35 minutes away. One of the best places in Costa Rica to spot the resplendent quetzal. Peak season is from December to April, but they can be seen year-round.
— Tarrazú Coffee: You’re in one of the most renowned coffee-growing regions in Central America. Several coffee mills and farms welcome visitors. Ask us and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
— Cerro de la Muerte: One of the highest points along the Inter-American Highway, featuring páramo landscapes and extreme weather conditions. It’s worth stopping if you’re passing through.
— Local Rivers and Trails: The area has hiking routes that are rarely crowded. Ideal for anyone looking to enjoy nature without the crowds.
