Cloudy skies with some rain expected until the end of the year

An increase in the intensity of trade winds over Costa Rica from Thursday is expected, according to forecasts by the National Meteorological Institute (IMN).

These weather conditions are due to increased atmospheric pressure in the Caribbean Sea in the coming days. This will bring more moisture from the maritime sector to the Caribbean and the Northern Zone, causing increased cloudiness and rainfall in these places, especially on Friday and Tuesday next week.

The Central Valley will have windy conditions and light showers could fall in the eastern and mountainous areas. Cool temperatures will prevail in most of this region and clear skies will be present in the mornings.

Cloudy skies and high chances of rain will predominate in the mountains of Central and South Pacific during the evenings for the rest of the week.

The Caribbean and Northern regions from Thursday will have cloudy conditions and showers, mostly in the evenings.

IMN forecasts state that these weather conditions will remain in most of the country until December 31.
