Managua, Heredia Sign ‘Sister-City’ Agreement

MANAGUA – The Mayor of CostaRica’s provincial capital Heredia, JavierCarvajal, traveled to the Nicaraguan capitallast week to sign a “sister-city” accordwith his Managua counterpart, HertyLewites, according to the NationalAssembly press office.The sister-city relationship aims to buildstronger social and economic bonds betweenthe two cities, while working on joint solutionsto common problems of poverty.Carvajal told a Nicaraguan congressionalcommission that a housing projectpromoted by his office would benefit 600Nicaraguan families living in Guararí,Heredia, north of San José (TT, Nov. 25).
