New Guanacaste Nonprofit To Hold Auction Night

The nonprofit Association for Childhood and Adolescent Culture, Education and Psychology (CEPIA) will be holding an auction night on Sunday, featuring a concert by Grammy-winning musical trio Editus.

Based in Huacas, near the beach towns of the northern Pacific coast, the recently founded association’s objective is to promote culture, health, sports and education for low-income children and teens in the area. CEPIA offers free cultural and educational activities and psychological support to disadvantaged kids, aiming to offer all children in the coastal zone of the northwestern province of Guanacaste equal opportunities to develop their talents.

Paintings, trips, clothes and more will be sold at the auction, which will take place Nov. 18 at 5 p.m., at the Paradisus Playa Conchal hotel. Tickets cost ¢2,500 ($5) and are available at Super Masaai and Petit Paris in Flamingo, CEPIA’s office in Huacas, Papaya con Leche at the Hotel Tamarindo Diria, Country Day School in Brasilito and Rancho Playa Negra. For more information, visit www.asociacioncepia.org, call 653-8533 or visit CEPIA’s office, 300 meters toward Brasilito from the main intersection in Huacas, behind Rancho Guaymi.
