Brazilian Mission Visits Costa Rica

A delegation from the Brazilian Cooperation Agency was in Costa Rica this week to work on bilateral cooperation projects between the two countries, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

Headed by Brazilian Ambassador to Costa Rica Luiz Enrique Pereira de Fonseca, the mission was made up of Brazilian experts in energy, mail services, health, environment and agriculture. The group arrived Monday and left Wednesday.

They met with their Costa Rican counterparts to discuss 14 new projects presented by the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE), the Administrative Board of Electrical Services of Cartago, Correos de Costa Rica S.A., the Public Health Ministry and Production Ministry.

Costa Rica and Brazil began a cooperation program in June 2004 that included six projects worth $650,000.
