Consumers Getting Bluesy, Recent Survey Shows

Faced with surging oil and food prices, consumers have lost faith in the Oscar Arias administration’s economic policy, according to a new survey.

In a June survey by Unimer, only 23.5 percent of Costa Ricans said Arias was managing the economy “well,” down from 49 percent in October.

Some 19.3 percent said Arias was doing a “poor” job, up from 9.3 percent eight months ago. The rest, 57.2 percent, said Arias was doing “just enough.”
