MOPT Launches Safe-Driving Campaign

Costa Rica‘s Public Works and Transport Ministry (MOPT) has launched a responsible-driving campaign aimed at reducing traffic accidents.
During the campaign’s launch last week in San José, officials from the Social Security Administration emphasized that more than 3 billion colones (about $6 million) is spent to treat people who are wounded every year in car accidents.
In addition to MOPT’s campaign, the Legislative Assembly is considering several measures to toughen traffic laws.
