Two Familiar Newscasters Leave Channel 7 TV News

THE co-directors of Channel 7 TV’snightly newscast Telenoticias, Pilar Cisnerosand Ignacio Santos, will no longer bethe familiar faces providing the news toCosta Rica come October.In a statement released Tuesday night,the parent company Televisora de CostaRica S.A. announced the two hadinformed the station they would beresigning when their contracts expire Sep.30, so they could dedicate themselves to“new personal projects.”Both Cisneros and Santos shared thesupervision and production of other programson Channel 7, such as “7 Días,”“7 Estrellas” and “En Vivo.” Santosalso produced a show called “ElChinamo.”Both newscasters have been withTelenoticias for seven years.The directors of the station plan toannounce a new structure for the news programbefore Oct. 1, the statement said.
