New Website Provides Online Access to Gov’t

A private initiative has broughttogether all the government’s online serviceson one Web site: www.gobiernodigital.org. The site provides directaccess to the Web sites of 65 Costa Ricaninstitutions and is intended to make peopleaware of the government’s online services,according to the daily La Nación.Among the many options available,users can pay their electricity, water, telephoneand cellular phone bills, sell agriculturalproducts, investigate creditopportunities for a business, pay importand export tariffs, access tax informationand explore government statistics andreports. La Nación reported that the creatorsof the site plan to expand the currentservices, allowing users to create a personalizedpage that groups together all thebills and services they want to access.
