Caribbean Recycling Group Needs Community’s Help

The Caribbean Recycling Association (RECICARIBE) needs help repairing its collection truck that circulates through the southern Caribbean region, and it is asking the community to pitch in.

The collection of recyclables will be suspended for about two weeks while the association repairs its truck, according to a statement.

This will cost about $500 that the association doesn’t have, so any monetary donations will help, and anyone with a truck that could be loaned to the organization or rented at a low cost while the truck is being repaired is encouraged to contact the association.

“We have not had to suspend service since we started in 1999, and are sad to have to do it now,” the statement said.

Those interested in helping out can contact the association at 756-8181 or 888-7167.
