Regulatory Authority Offers Public Meetings Via Video

Those who want to opine on matters related to public services can now do so via videoconference and have a chance to interact with other residents around the country.

The Public Services Regulatory Authority (ARESEP) will implement a new videoconference system beginning Aug. 14 with the goal of allowing more users to participate in hearings on issues such as public service rates and how they are calculated, according to a statement released Tuesday.

Upcoming audiences are scheduled to be held simultaneously in the court buildings of the Caribbean city of Limón; San Carlos, in north-central Costa Rica; Liberia, in the northwestern Guanacaste province; the Pacific port of Puntarenas; the Southern Zone city of Pérez Zeledón and Cartago, east of San José.

Participants will be linked via videoconference and have a chance to interact with others around the country.

For information on public hearings via videoconference call ARESEP at 220-0102.
