Costa Rica Improves Pothole-Filling Capacity

Potholes may be filled a little faster in Costa Rica, as the Public Works and Transport Ministry just purchased an asphalt machine that doubles the productivity of the one it had before.

The $2.2 million machine, which is equipped with technology to recycle asphalt, has the capacity to produce 600 tons of pavement a day. It should be ready for use in January, the ministry said in a press release.

The equipment will allow for greater and better service for the National Highway Council (CONAVI) and municipalities, the Public Works and Transport Ministry said.

The ministry added that the machine will go into operation in the Atlantic zone.
