U.S. citizen found dead in his cabina in Sámara

U.S.citizen Bruce Corbitt, 60, was found dead in his home Monday morning in the Guanacaste beach town of Sámara. The daily La Nacíon reported Corbitt was found on the floor of his cabina with a wound to his head and blood staining the ground.

A press officer for the Judicial Investivation Police confirmed the death, and authorities seem to believe it resulted from an accidental fall. There were no signs of foul play and Corbitt’s belongings were found inside his cabina.

Corbitt lived alone and, according to a page on the social networking site WAYN.com, was an artist and writer who moved to Sámara from California after retiring in 2007.
