Hundreds of public employees marched along the capital’s Second Avenue to the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015. There, union leaders delivered lawmakers a petition asking them to oppose a bill, the “Public Employment Law,” which would eliminate public workers’ extra-wage benefits and bonuses. Protesters extended for about five blocks. At around 12:30 p.m. most of them began to leave the streets. — Alberto Font/The Tico Times
