Results in for the National Sailfish Tournament

Club Amateur de Pesca held the first leg of the National Sailfish tournament last weekend and 38 anglers landed and released 120 sailfish. Only one marlin was caught in that division. Results are published below.

Most of the Pacific reported excellent sailfish numbers especially out of Los Sueños. But there haven’t been many marlin around.

Down south, the sail numbers were smaller but a few marlin between 200 and 400 pounds were taken.

Up north it is windy, but boats going out are seeing a few sails and good numbers of dorado.

Tarpon have been hitting on the Caribbean with an average of 10 bites a day, and the snook have been taking jigs at Samay Lagoon. Eddie Brown reports snapper have been taking lures at the Tortuguero river mouth.
