Gas prices to decrease again next month

Per-liter prices of “super” and “plus” gasoline will decrease in August by ₡20 colones ($0.039) and ₡15 (0.029), respectively, according to a price adjustment announced by the Public Services Regulatory Authority (ARESEP).

August gas prices will cost ₡723 ($1.43) for “super” and ₡682 ($1.35) for “plus.” Diesel will remain at ₡610 ($1.20) per liter.

Angelica Carvajal, a spokeswoman for ARESEP, said the price adjustments respond to variations in international oil prices.

This is the second time this month that ARESEP has reduced national fuel prices. New rates will take effect when published in the official newspaper La Gaceta.
