Magnitude 4.8 earthquake shakes most of Costa Rica on Sunday night
An earthquake that was felt in most of Costa Rica on Sunday night registered a 4.8 on the Richter scale, according to the country’s Volcanology and Seismology Observatory (Ovsicori).
The epicenter was located located in Guanacaste, near Abangares, the Ovsicori reported. The earthquake hit at 7:31 p.m., and reportedly was felt in Guanacaste, Puntarenas and the Central Valley. No major damage has been reported.
The US Geological Society registered the earthquake as having a 4.7 magnitude.
