Boxer Hanna Gabriel to defend her title in Costa Rica’s Estadio Nacional

Hanna Gabriel will defend her title at the new Estadio Nacional in west San José on March, 31. Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz, president of Sampson Boxing LLC, made the announcement today. Gabriel will fight to maintain her World Boxing Organization’s (WBO) junior middleweight title (154 lbs). Her opponent will be named at a later date.

Seven bouts will take place during the event. Tickets go on sale Feb. 18, and will cost between ¢5,200 and ¢52,000.

Gabriel, 27, last fought on Jan. 9, knocking out rival Melisenda Pérez from the U.S. with only 58 seconds to spare in the final round in Uruguay. Her record stands at 12-0-1, 7 KO’s and is 1-0 as the undisputed WBO junior middleweight champion.
