Club 212 Hopes to Change Nightlife in Heredia

In a warehouse behind the Cervecería in San Joaquín de Flores, in Heredia, techno music is thumping. Club 212 has just opened, and it is massive: 2,500 people can dance to a top-notch sound system installed on two separate floors decorated with plush lounge chairs and soft-lit bars.

Billing itself as the “top club in Central America,” Club 212 opened its doors Friday with much fanfare, highlighted by the savory sounds of Flamenco Express and Chocolate, plus mixes by DJ Andrés Solano.

Open on weekends until 2:30 a.m. Club 212‘s managers say they will also rent the spacious venue for private events. Uruguayan singer Jorge Drexler, nominated for four Latin Grammy Awards, will perform there Nov. 28.
