Divers, Nondivers Invited to Hermosa Beach Cleanup

Project AWARE’s 2009 beach cleanup will take place Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at Playa Hermosa, near Coco on the northern Pacific coast. The event is being organized by Kay Van Leuven of Diving Safaris. Divers who want to lend a hand may present themselves with their certification cards at the dive shop in Playa Hermosa before Sept. 15. Nondivers are encouraged to show up at the event and lend a hand on the beach.

Donations from area businesses in the form of funds, clean-up supplies, prizes such as hotel stays, and food for the volunteers are welcome. For more information, call 2672-1259 or e-mail info@costaricadiving.net.
