New Culture Vice Minister

Laura Pacheco on Wednesday was named as the new vice minister of culture.

“Laura is someone who has important life experience,” said Culture Minister María Elena Carballo in making the announcement. In a press release, Carballo noted Pacheco is an accomplished dancer and has experience in audiovisual production and filmmaking.

The press release made no mention of Pacheco’s predecessor, Aurelia Garrido, who resigned in mid-June, citing personal reasons.
