Semana Santa Deaths Down 12% over ’07
Semana Santa (Easter Holy Week) yielded 12% fewer fatalities this year than last.
According to the Judicial Investigation Police, 66 people died this year during the holiday, down nine from 2007.
This year, there were 22 fatal traffic accidents, 16 homicides, 11 drowning deaths and three suicides.
