CELEBRATING CHAMPIONS

Sixty of Costa Rica’s special athletes were welcomed home last week after their numerous victories earlier this month in the Special Olympics in Shanghai, China. Esteban Steller, 17, wears the four medals he won in swimming competitions while people in Desamparados, south of San José, applaud him.

Tomorrow the special Olympians will be in Jacó, on the central Pacific coast, for another congratulatory ceremony (see Community Connection in Weekend for details).
