Inflation Falls to 7% So Far This Year
Inflation in Costa Rica registered 7% during the first nine months of this year, down from the 9.7% registered during the same period last year, according to a statement from the National Statistics and Census Institute (INEC).
This drop resulted from a decrease in price of 28% of the 292 Costa Rican goods and services that make up the “basic food basket” or canasta básica, including gasoline, electricity, vegetables, clothes and airline tickets.
Last year, inflation in Costa Rica registered 14%.
