Tribunal Studies Complaints Against Hotel Punta Leona

THE Environmental Tribunal is studying a series of complaints filed against Hotel Punta Leona, near the beach town of Jacó, in the province of Puntarenas, according to the daily Al Día.The hotel is allegedly emptying fecal matter into the ocean, invading the Maritime Zone and performing illegal felling, the daily reported.Among the environmental violations being studied are an alleged construction in the public area of Playa Blanca and the emptying of wastes in Playa Manta. Punta Leona lawyer Mario Pacheco told the daily the hotel has “emphatically denied the accusations” of neighbors, and described the allegations as unfounded.
