Los Santos Hosts Rural Tourism Fair

ARTS and crafts, orchids, freshproduce, some of the best coffee in theworld, dance performances, sports andtours through mountain towns surroundedby forests will be part of theFirst Los Santos-Caraigres Agro-Ecotourism Fair this weekend.The fair, to be held in the CentralPark of San Marcos de Tarrazú, a ruralcoffee town in the mountainous LosSantos region south of San José, isbeing promoted by the local tourismchamber and several cooperativesusing the motto “Fertile earth, pure airand authentic people.”The event, scheduled for today,tomorrow and Sunday, will focus onpublicizing the region’s rural communitytourism offerings, includingauthentic Costa Rican campesino lifeand traditions and natural attractionssuch as rivers, forests, mountains andhot springs.To get to San Marcos de Tarrazú,take the Inter-American Highwaysouth from San José and exit at the ElEmpalme turnoff.
