CHILDREN all over the UnitedStates and Europe have enjoyed thefun and fantasy of Pinocchio on Ice foryears. Now, for the first time, thefabled wooden puppet is coming toCosta Rica – on skates.As part of a Central Americantour, the European company Holidayon Ice will be in Costa Rica June 29 toJuly 3. Pinocchio will perform in thePalacio de los Deportes in Heredia,north of San José, where he will beaccompanied by 40 professional iceskaters on a 19-meter-wide, 31-meterlongice rink. The show will be filledwith special effects, lights, sound,wardrobe changes and stage design.Ten performances are scheduledwith a spectacular opening nightplanned for June 29. The show startsat 7 p.m. June 29 and 30; two performanceswill take place July 1 at 3 p.m.and 7 p.m.; and three performanceswill be offered July 2 and 3 at 11 a.m.,3 p.m. and 7 p.m.General admission is ¢4,000($8.50); preferred seating is ¢7,500($15.90).
