People in Glass Houses Shouldn’t Throw Stones

Dear Nica Times:

In response to the letter by Amber Sanders of California (NT, May 11): Sanders promotes a U.S. boycott of Nicaragua because, “she does not want to support a corrupt country.”

I had to laugh out loud. Does she actually believe the United States is not a corrupt country?

Or that any country does not have corruption? Will she and her friends boycott the corrupt United States, too?

People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

And referring to the the Eric Volz case, I hope he does get a thorough investigation, a good lawyer, and a fair trial.

That would be more than what the United States gave the hostages who were kidnapped off the streets and taken to Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and C.I.A. interrogation camps.

Not to mention the torture.
