Ortega Gets Negative Marks After 19 Months

Some 58 percent of the population says it “doesn’t support” the government of President Daniel Ortega, while 36 percent say they still give Ortega a “vote of confidence” or “support him with reservations,” according to a M&R Consultant poll published Monday in the daily La Prensa.

The polling numbers aren’t as bad for Ortega as they were in May, when more than 64 percent said they didn’t support him.

Still, the survey was mostly negative, with 42 percent saying they don’t like anything about the administration and 70 percent saying the government is either on the wrong path or “doesn’t know where it’s going.”
