Hipermás to Open In Guadalupe, Escazú

AS the Corporación deSupermercados Unidos (CSU) concentrateson opening a new Hipermás supermarketlocation in November inGuadalupe, a suburb northeast of SanJosé, it has also changed the location ofits planned Escazú Hipermás, which mayopen by the end of 2006.The new location is on a lot directlyfacing the previous site. The new lot is20% larger and will provide 15% morespace for sales, the weekly El Financieroreported.The store will be on the southernside of the Próspero Fernández freewayin Escazú, a western San José suburb.CSU had been doing reconstructionwork for a year and seven months on thepreviously planned location as a resultof landslides in October 2003.The Hipermás in Escazú would be thefifth location for the supermarket chain.Other CSU holdings include thesupermarket chains Más x Menos, Palíand Maxibodegas.
