The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) on Tuesday evening posted a video of a new eruption at Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, located in Guanacaste province.
Experts with the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica on Thursday reported that Rincón de la Vieja volcano, located in Guanacaste province, increased its activity with vapor and explosions.
Turrialba Volcano, located 50 kilometers east of Costa Rica's capital, this month has recorded an increase in activity that so far includes five ash, gas and vapor explosions. The most recent event occurred on Monday at 5:33 p.m., according to the University of Costa Rica's National Seismological Network.
Nicaragua's Momotombo Volcano erupted Wednesday for the first time in 110 years. The explosion of gases, ash and small quantities of lava was not initially expected to be dangerous to the population because the debris fell in remote locations, Nicaraguan officials said.
