Costa Rica Beach house for Sale
FOR SALE $289,000
9/10 hectare titled property with house and cabin at beach.
Puerto Jimenez, Osa Peninsula
Located halfway between Puerto Jimenez and Cabo Matapalo, the Guanabana area is very private and yet convenient to town. Our 9000 square meter (2.2+ acres) property is fully titled and registered located 250 meters along a private path to one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, removed from any public road. 8 km from the town of Puerto Jimenez on the beach ‘Playa Colorado’, locally called ‘Guananbana’, this area is quiet – hearing neither town nor the populous Matapalo area sounds. The main house ‘Casa Guanabana’ is a bamboo-framed multiple-level open air structure with solar, LED lighting, fans, refrigeration, gas stove, hot water shower and insulated brand new roof.
The casa includes master bedroom with screened in sitting area, guest bedroom and second level loft bedroom as well as living and dining areas and brand new kitchen with new appliances. Beds and sofas are all included as well as all chattel, linens and dishware required for a rental property. Casa has several safe/lockup areas as well as newly wired solar system and roof mounted solar panels. Location is ideal for privacy and quiet. Located less than 200 m from the water and 200 m from the road – there is no one walking by able to view in. Walking paths connect the casa to a cabina through mature gardens. Howler, Squirrel and Capuchin monkeys visit regularly – crossing through the mature trees – but are still ‘natural’ and not habituated.. Scarlet Macaws, green parrots, parakeets and many other birds visit the gardens regularly. The beach is a virtually uninhabited, sandy, very walk-able beach, great large lounging tide pools at low tide and swim-able at high tide. To the left there is a local surf point ‘Love Bump (Pump)’, to the right a great low tide snorkeling and fishing point ‘Punta Tigre’.
Across the gardens from the casa, there is a separate screened in cabina bedroom with attached open kitchen, sitting area, and private bath, located at the edge of the naturalized pond. Great for additional guests or as an owner’s cabin while the main house is rented. Additional bamboo structures on the property include a garden vivero, a hammock lounge area with cool water plunge tub, a covered laundry and lockable storage building / bodega. The property has a good well for drinking water, great double large capacity tanks and pump. The amenities are natural and elegant, each detail hand crafted by the owners. Fruit-bearing trees in the mature gardens include avocado, lime, mangosteen, mango, banana, pineapple groves and construction grade bamboo, etc.
There are no houses visible from the property and no sounds from the sparse quiet expat neighborhood of six other properties. Property currently generating vacation rental income. Trusted caretaker and part-time housekeeper live off-site and would be happy to continue working with this casa and property, both are amazing with guests and can fully support rental clients. Neighbors’ caretaker lives very close to this property’s entrance – effectively securing the property full time. This is a very unique, private and secure beach living experience and fully set up rental property.

“This house offers a true jungle experience. I’ve stayed in a lot of open air houses in the Osa, but this one topped them all. The property is very well kept and there was a lot of thought put into every detail of the home. Sitting in the hammocks with coffee watching the monkeys and other wildlife in the mornings is unbeatable. Thank you guys for allowing us to experience your piece of paradise.“
“If you would like to really experience living in a Costa Rica jungle, this house is for you!! There are no walls separating you from the plants, the monkeys, the birds or the lovely smells and breezes. Yet, it feels perfectly safe and luxurious with beautiful architecture, thoughtful amenities and everything you need to soak up the jungle energy. The beach is a short and gorgeous walk away, the grounds and cabina are inviting and the caretaker is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. If you get down to the Osa peninsula, don’t miss this house!!!!“
