Isla del Coco National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with Ramsar protected wetlands located 365 miles off Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. According to park officials, Costa Rican taxpayers are subsidizing fuel on dozens of fishing boats poaching the park’s waters for tuna and sharks.
