Arenal Report

May 17, 2013

Answer: Exhausted. Question:  How did you feel after a non-stop week of Costa Rican Fiesta? So said Bob and Bonnie Wollmacher, a soon-to-be retired couple from Florida visiting Costa Rica for the first time. Parades, music, dancing, three nights of bull riding and a fabulous tope featuring more than 300 horses provided unforgettable memories.

Perfect weather with cool evening breezes enhanced the enjoyment for everyone. Congratulations and thank you to Banco de Costa Rica for its support as primary sponsor of this enormous series of events.

The Comite Desportes de Arenal, under the direction of Jeff Spencer, organized a very enjoyable recreational bike ride that had volunteers manning water stations and helping direct riders and traffic.

Free food and drinks awaited the cyclists at the end of the ride, which is scheduled to become an annual activity of Arenal Fiesta Week. Many thanks to major sponsors Exabyte, Heys Look, Todo lo que Necesito, Soda la Plaza, Lucky Bug, Gingerbread, Gum Up, Hotel Mansion Inn, Plaza del Café, German Bakery, Hotel Los Heroes, Led-2 Serve, Pacific Tradewinds, Luc Charette, and Arenal Christian Church who also provided free T-shirts to the first 100 riders. Their support of Arenal’s youth sports program is greatly appreciated.
