Tamarindo Talk

May 3, 2013

The Beach Nuts Theatre Company is doing a special presentation of “The Wizard of Oz” with a cast made up of young children. Once again helmed by local director Paul Belanger, the showings will take place at Fisch Restaurant tonight, tomorrow and Sunday nights. Get your advance tickets for $10 at Jaime Peligro Bookstore, or pay $15 the night of the play. Showtime is 7 p.m. Gotta love shoes right? Did you know that besides being able to get women’s shoes custom made at Papaya Con Leche here in Tamarindo it is only a short ride to Haucas to a full shoe store? Called Kaytes, there are shoes for men, women and children. Located diagonal to Banco Popular, the store hours are Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and they are closed on Sunday. Surfers are always looking for pictures of themselves getting a great ride. Robin and Dan Chapman take surf pictures of pros and beginners. You can reach them at 8465-5200 or 8465-5233 or email dtp1959@hotmail.com. Pangas Beach Club, located across the street from El Tesoro, has started Sunday Funday. This is an activity filled day for kids, including face painting, games, live music and stuff for adults to do as well. The fun begins at 11 a.m. Later there is an all-you-can-eat, which costs $16.50, while kids under 11 cost $7.50, and children under 3 eat free. As a special FYI, Pangas is also a fish market. They offer fresh fish and seafood, which is displayed in a case. The owners say that the fish is available two to three days earlier than others. The fish market is opened from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
