Costa Rica Coffee Guide

Arenal Report

March 22, 2013

The Arenal Report notes with sadness the passing of Gerd Rachut. His wife Mary Ellen and he have been residents of Nuevo Arenal for five years. Gerd loved his life in Costa Rica, especially the natural beauty and peaceful surroundings of their home in Las Flores. His wit and humor will be missed by all of us who knew him.

Attention runners: A 10-kilometer run is scheduled for Sunday, April 7. The race starts at 9 a.m. from the park in Tilarán. The run’s registration fee of 7,000 colones will  raise funds for social work projects, and for the purchase of specialized wheelchairs and other equipment needed by persons with disabilities.

The first 100 registrants will receive commemorative T-shirts for the Tilarán Run. We encourage everyone who enjoys running to participate. Those of us who may not have 10K left in our tanks can sponsor individual runners to support this very worthwhile event.
