Looking for a little insight into life? From Jan. 1-Feb. 2, Peter Williams, a renowned Canadian astrologer, will be in town. He’s been practicing for more than 35 years, specializing in relationship analysis, personal health, business/sales forecasting, relocation and personal financial forecasting. The Tamarindo Tennis Club is offering hour-long classes for children ages 6-8 every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. and for those 9-12 at 4:30 p.m. Limited to six kids per class, the classes cost $40 a month, to be paid at the first class. The teacher is Nick Holt. To register, call 7075-9002.

Local Bill Nevins has written a book called “Random Thoughts – A Trek Through the Nubri Valley with Nepal S.E.E.D.S. (Social Educational Environmental Development Services).” This is a complication of notes and photos from the trip he and his wife Margaret took into the Nubri Valley near Tibet in 2010. Pick up the book at Jaime Peligro Bookstore here in town.

SER Om Shanti Yoga studio is hosting two new workshops with Juan Pablo Barahona at the end of January. On Jan. 19, he will present “Workshop on Detoxification and Cellular Regeneration,” that will be a complete day (11 a.m.-5 p.m.) of detox of mind and body, with juices and various techniques such as auto-massage, breathing, yoga and more. Then on Jan. 20, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and from 2 p.m.-5 p.m., he will offer “Awakening Through Chakras,” a study with yoga, breathing, aromatherapy, visualization and vibration therapy opens energy flow in the body.
