Natalia Coto and Lourdes Pérez have announced plans for a Kids’ Camp during school break in Playa Hermosa. The dates are July 2-13 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Activities include swimming, dancing, cooking, recycling and multi-sensory workshops. The camp is for children ages 4-11. Alejandra Torres is teaching yoga classes again at the Doce Lunas yoga studio just outside of Jacó. Classes are Mon., Wed. and Fri. from 9-10:30 a.m. and Tues. and Thurs. from 6-7:30 p.m. For more info, contact Doce Lunas at 2643-3419.

This weekend, the fifth leg of the CNS Surf Circuit will be held in Jacó Beach in front of Morgan’s Cove on the south end. The Copa Britt Iced Jacó 2012 will not only feature local surfers in action, but also Miss Chica Reef signing autographs. Earlier in the month, Craig “Tequila” Schieber began defending his title with a high level of surfing out at the Masters Surf Cup in Playa Hermosa.

Schieber won the Kahuna category. This Masters Cup was run as a prelude to the World Cup, which will take place in July in Playa Colorado Riva, Nicaragua. Congratulations to the other winners: Andrea Díaz in the women’s group and Grand Masters, Randall Chaves (41-45 years) and Luis Diego Morales (35-40 years). Celebrate International Surfing Day June 24 in Jacó Beach at one of the many surf shops in town, or take a lesson from one of the surf schools.  

Next Wednesday, June 2, the Central Pacific Women’s Group will meet at 9 a.m. at Hotel Cocal. The meeting will feature indigenous art from the Amazon, presented by Joost Wilms of Dantica Gallery. For more info, visit www.dantica.com.

Also, the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce will meet Tuesday, June 26, at 7 p.m. at Balcón del Mar in the center of Jacó.
