The Village Community Center located in Brasilito is hosting a series of “hot topics” for the community throughout April and May and on Sat., April 14, 2012, from 10 a.m.-noon at the Soul y Paz Yoga Center. Certified holistic health coach Mary Ann Augustine will be speak on life lessons for teens.
A pool party for all attendees will follow the class at the Country Day School. The class costs $15 per person with a minimum of 10 people. Registration is required 48 hours before the class, so please contact Pam at 8355-9993 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A weekly farmer’s market will be held at the Village Community Center on Tuesdays in the Salon next to Cecil’s Panadería from 2-6 p.m. It will offer fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, herbs, baked goods and more. Come by to see the displays and try out these gourmet goodies.
The Shack in Surfside/Potrero celebrated a birthday on March 30. Thanks to Local Legend and everyone who came out for our anniversary party on Friday night. It was a great time.
The 13th Annual Robert August Surf-n-Turf Charity Challenge was held March 29-April 1, and included fun events that raised funds for needy children. The weekend began with a party at the Vaquero Restaurant in Witch’s Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo, on Thursday, with dinner, a live band and a silent auction. Friday there was a surf contest at Lola’s in Playa Avellana combined with a silent, daytime auction and a cocktail dinner at the Diria Hotel.
On Saturday, the golf tournament kicked off at Hacienda Pinilla, and on Sunday, there was a catamaran cruise on the Marlin Del Rey in Tamarindo. The cruise ended with an awards ceremony at the Vaquero Restaurant, and all proceeds will go to CEPIA.
