Jacó’s Recreational Mountain Bike MTB Event to benefit the local CEN-CINAI child welfare center is being planned for Sunday, Oct. 30, at 9 a.m. This is a 100 percent adrenaline event in which riders will follow a scenic route through the mountains of Garabito. There will be fruit, guides, lunch and T-shirts for the first 100 registered. Participants may register Oct. 24-28 at the CEN-CINAI for a cost of ₡5,000 ($10). Fabricio Ulate has opened a new little soda called Pa’ Picar next to the Red Cross in Jacó. He offers burgers, tacos and ceviche and is open noon-11 p.m. Express delivery service is available. For information, contact Fabricio at fulate@costarica4u.com.
Zumba is becoming popular in the Central Pacific, and now classes are offered at Acqua Spa on the north side of Jacó. Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays at 4 p.m. For more information, call 2630-0505.
Halloween is coming up, so start looking for your costume. Backyard’s famous annual Halloween party is set for Monday, Oct. 31.
