Celebrations, special dinner engagements at local restaurants, street parties and cozy private fiestas were held throughout our area to bring in the new year. With the much anticipated final countdown came spectacular fireworks around Flamingo and off the beach extending down the coast to Conchal. They were by far the best fireworks we’ve seen in a long time.
Hordes of visitors from San José hit the beaches with gusto over the holidays. A live band played daily on Flamingo beach, entertaining visitors and locals alike. Lots of boats were on the water this year, along with Jet Skis and water-skiers.
Our deepest sympathies go to Chris Simmons, owner of RE/MAX in Tamarindo, and his family for the passing of his beloved wife, Bonnie, after a long illness.
