The area chamber of commerce is offering a business management seminar in English, starting the morning of Aug. 11. The objective of the program is to provide business owners and key managers with basic information on how to organize and operate businesses more efficiently and profitably.
The course is structured into four main categories: strategic planning; personnel development (human resources); profit and expense control; and sales and marketing.
The courses will be run by Robert Normand, founder of the Institute for Smart Business Management, author of “Entreprenewal: The Six Step Recovery Program for Small Business” and past adjunct professor of small business management at Northampton Community College in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. More information on Bob can be found on his Web site, www.bobnormand.com.
Class sizes are limited, and each class runs for an hour and a half. Depending on the level of interest, additional classes will be offered in Spanish. The per-session, perperson cost is ¢5,000 ($8.60) for chamber members and ¢7,000 ($12) for nonmembers.
To sign up for the course, contact Dallas Boyd at the Aguirre Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism at 2777-0749.
